Current Projects

Current research includes three primary areas of focus:

  • a study of art-making, industrial design, and the rise of consciousness in Homo sapiens, and the transition of humans to Homo faber and Homo techne

  • continuing work on modes of knowledge transmission in indigenous/traditional cultures, with a focus on mapping, cartography, and visual and psychological models of the landscape

  • and a philosophy of science investigation on the role of empirical methods in studying the nature of time, the structure of spacetime, and temporality (our sense of time’s passage)

Current artistic projects comprise the following:

  • a visual arts project that looks at digital mapping and way-finding as a commentary on human wanderings

  • an investigation via visual arts pieces into the idea of parallel worlds or “alternate” worlds

  • artworks using recycled materials (“canned art”) to create specialized scenes and visual puns, with a nod to the artist Joseph Cornell

  • in music, a new, five-song EP that was released in the spring of 2023, and continued work in electronica and other musical styles.
