In a vein similar to my work concerning “alternate worlds”, here I explore a reality in which a global metro / underground / subway system — the GRT — has been constructed. In this other reality, visiting anyone in Europe, South America, Africa, East Asia, and elsewhere on the globe is becoming easier all the time. New stations are being built at a quick pace, and visiting relatives and friends is no more difficult that purchasing a metro ticket or using one’s metro pass.

The GRT / 全球捷運 connects subway and metro systems around the world via lines sitting deep inside the Earth’s crust and mantle. The GRT / 全球捷運 was constructed by Taiwan National Engineering, Ltd. Current lines have trains that run between Philadelphia, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, and Taipei, with transfer stations underneath the Atlantic Ocean. Future lines are planned to Reykjavík, as well as cities in West Africa, Russia, China, Japan, and Australia.
